Smile on the Mile
What does "Smile on the Mile" mean?
You can do hard things.
It's the belief that if you smile through the tough moments, it'll give you a boost of energy to overcome the next one.
It's the belief that if you smile at the end of each mile you walk or run, you'll trick your brain into completing the next one.
Whether running or just pushing through the ups and downs of daily life, "smile on the mile" is our mindset toward creating and living the belief that we can do hard things.
We dedicate the month of September to carrying forward the legacy of "smile on the mile."
Jeff DeGarmo shared this idea of "smile on the mile" with everyone he met. As an avid runner, he deeply believed that being outside and moving your body is good for your spirit.
In his honor, we are hosting a series of activities and events to raise funds to help build a children's playground and green space at Kechi United Methodist Church for the entire community to enjoy.
